VI COMMANDO

Gnr. Patrick Collins, formerly of the Royal Artillery, served in No.6 Commando.

Gnr. Patrick Collins was reported as being Killed in Action (KIA) on 6th June 1944, aged 31 years.

He was the son of Patrick and Ann Collins; husband of Mary Collins, of Wythenshaw, Cheshire and was laid to rest in Ranville War Cemetery (Calvados, France).  Grave IV.A.23.

The inscription on his headstone reads:

‘Love’s last gift. Remembrance.’
